The "Dagaz Series" is a limited edition, one-of-a-kind hand-crafted 24-rune wood set based on the Elder Futhark System and comes with a bonus cotton rune pouch featuring an RSD bindrune print and a 3-page cheat sheet to help the user identify basic rune meanings for divination purposes.
Each rune has been hand carved and wood burned into black rune staves.
The edges of the rune discs are smooth/rounded, and the exterior (sides) of the runes have a dark/light, stripped bark finish.
Double-boiled Linseed oil has been applied to seal and protect the runes.
 
 The natural wood grain design on each woodcut looks like a sunset or dawn over the landscape. Dagaz is the balance of light/dark, day/night, and dawn/dusk; and I find that these meanings are best represented with the blend of dark and light tones on the wood. Dagaz is represented by Odin and reflects his paradoxical nature on the spectrum of polar extremes where equilibrium must be maintained to find balance. We must learn to embrace both the light and dark within ourselves. Shunning or hiding either of these qualities will tilt the balance and throw us into chaos.
 
This particular rune set was cut from a dead branch from the Lambton Woods Forest/Humber Trail behind my home in Ontario. The branch was sick and I've decided to give it new life and a repurpose by making this rune set. The spectacular wood grain design that it gives off was too good to be wasted or forgotten.
 
These runes were created from April 30th, 2024 to May 11th, 2024 and charged under the New Moon on May 7th, 2024. During the stave carving process, the runes were loaded with rune-galdr (incantation).
